Assistant General Manager (AGM) Sales
Location - Delhi
Job Description: As the Assistant General Manager of Sales in Delhi Press, your primary responsibility is to drive revenue growth by leading and managing the sales team. You will work closely with the Sales Head and other key stakeholders to develop and implement effective sales strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives. Your role will involve a combination of strategic planning, team management, client relationship building, and performance monitoring.
Sales Strategy Development: Collaborate with the Sales Head to formulate sales strategies and plans that maximize revenue generation and market penetration. Identify target markets, explore new sales opportunities, and devise innovative approaches to meet or exceed sales targets.
Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, advertisers, and media agencies. Identify client needs, understand market trends, and proactively develop customized advertising and sponsorship solutions to meet client objectives. Monitor client satisfaction and address any issues or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
Revenue Generation: Drive revenue growth by actively participating in sales activities, including prospecting, lead generation, and deal closures. Collaborate with the sales team to negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with clients. Monitor and analyze sales performance data to identify areas for improvement and take corrective actions when necessary.
Market Analysis: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics. Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify opportunities for product development or diversification. Provide insights and recommendations to the management team based on market intelligence.
Sales Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and performance metrics to the management team. Track sales KPIs, analyze trends, and identify areas for improvement. Develop sales dashboards and provide regular updates on sales progress to key stakeholders.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, such as editorial, marketing, and production, to ensure effective coordination and integration of sales activities. Work closely with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns, sales materials, and advertising strategies.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven 7-10 years of experience in sales management within the magazine publishing industry or related media industry.
- Strong understanding of the magazine publishing landscape, including market trends, advertising models, and distribution channels.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales data and generate actionable insights.
- Proficiency in using sales management software and CRM systems.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
